Greetings,
I found these two quotes that I thought was an appropriate thought:
“Since the jobs that our
preschoolers will do probably don’t exist yet, our priority is to teach them
the skills to adapt and inquire and question and cooperate…life skills. So much
more useful than rigid concepts such as the alphabet.” ~ Caroline Bellouse
“I keep trying to convey the
pleasure every parent and teacher could feel while observing, appreciating and
enjoying what the infant is doing. This attitude would change our educational
climate from worry to joy. Can anybody argue about the benefits for a child who
is appreciated and enjoyed for what she can do and does naturally? …I believe
this issue is so basic, so important, that it cannot be overstated.” ~ Magda

Delores,
ReplyDeleteThank you for providing your perspective throughout the duration of this course. Reading your posts have made me stop and think about a number of ideas differently. The lenses we view the world through are different, but at the end of the day, I can tell that you are devoted to bettering the lives of children. Thank you again.
Hi Delores
ReplyDeleteThe perspective that you hav eprovided about preschooler is a great annalogy I never really look at it that way but its something to think about. It like getting a new pair of glasses thinking about some of the obstacles these preschooler will face. Your devotion to children is manifested in the quotes you selected because you are thinking of choldren today, tomorrow and yesterday keep being a positive accessory for children

Delores,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great first quote! I had never really thought of that. We are preparing children for things we can't even imagine. Being confident, compassionate, and eager to learn will be some of the greatest skills we can help foster in them.
Thank you so much for your contributions this term. You are thoughtful, insightful, and have so much to share. I am grateful for your feedback during the course and wish you the best in your continued journey.
